Do not eat 6 to 8 hours, and stop drinking 2 to 3 hours before the procedure
Arrange someone to take the patient back home
Do not smoke as tobacco can change the colour of the stomach lining
Post-examination, the patient will be instructed:
To follow the diet as instructed by the doctor
To take prescribed medications only
To take rest until sedation effects wear off or for next 24 hours
Arrange someone to stay with the patient for 24 hours
In case of any confusion, call or visit the clinic. Visit the doctor in case of severe chest or abdominal pain, fever, dark tar-like stools, shortness of breath or president vomiting with or without blood.
