- Pre hysteroscopy instructions:
- Follow the diet instructions as given by the doctor
- Avoid douching or using tampons
- The patient is advised to arrange for someone to take her back home
- Post hysteroscopy instructions:
- The patient is advised to use pads for vaginal bleeding for 2-4 days.
- Avoid sexual intercourse for the next 2 weeks
- The patient will feel bloated or have abdominal pain for 1or 2 days due to gas used in the procedure.
- Take prescribed medications for pain and to prevent infections.
- The patient can resume her daily life routine after 2 days but is advised to avoid strenuous activities for the next 7-10 days.
- Do not miss the follow-up appointment.
- Contact the doctor immediately in case of fever, heavy bleeding, severe pain or any other concerns.
